Sanders, FAIA, is the founder of MIXdesign, an inclusive style and design imagine tank and consultancy that is a branch of his New York-based mostly, LGBTBE-qualified architecture studio JSA (Joel Sanders Architect). Choe is the associate director of MIXdesign.

In their lecture, “System Politics: Social Equity and General public House,” Sanders and Choe will explore how MIXdesign is expanding its mission to take into consideration the unavoidable impact that the coronavirus pandemic will have on social equity and general public house. Addressing the spatial implications of COVID-19 is an extension of MIXdesign’s motivation to the development of safe and sound and accessible developed environments that meet the requirements of “non-compliant bodies” — men and women of diverse ages, races, genders, religions and skills that the self-discipline of architecture has ordinarily disregarded.

Choe coordinates the efforts of in-house staff, institutional companions, research assistants, interns and a community of consultants for MIXdesign investigation, educational, lawful and fundraising initiatives. As the Venture Supervisor for Stalled!, an interdisciplinary initiative for inclusive restrooms, they oversee analysis and layout groups, arrange lectures and workshops, and disseminate get the job done by means of publications in print and on the web formats, which includes Stalled!
